Guayaquil, Ecuador - Day 95-96

Our first stop in Ecuador was the busy and modern city of Guayaquil, which is Ecuador's largest city. Although the city has a few attractions, our main reason for coming here was to try to get a last minute deal for a Galápagos cruise. We originally did not plan on going to the Galápagos Islands because it is extremely expensive, and it was, but we decided since we were here it was worth it. We discovered that last minute deals can only be paid for in cash, and since Bella lost her ATM card, rounding up the cash took a few days and lots of visits to multiple banks and ATM's. So, between the trips to the banks we made a few stops along the way at some of the city's sites.

This park was in the middle of downtown and is home to huge iguanas just hanging out.
The city's main attraction was this beautiful waterfront area called the El Macelon. It stretches for almost 2 miles along the huge Rio Guayas and has restaurants, shopping malls, and parks.
